And So It Goes

I've always really liked this one. Now I feel it, too.

No prob. :-) It's one of my faves of his but never penetrated like it does now. Call me sappy. :-)

Ah, yes. From _Storm Front_, is it not? I think the
first time I noticed that song was on a car radio,
in 1992.

One of the hazards of limerence is that suddenly, every
shlocky song on the radio seem to take on a profound
significance, from an old Supremes number to the
latest auto-tuned dance thing. It's kind of like
what happens when you're stoned and go to McDonald's --
a Big Mac tastes like ambrosia at a banquet table on
Mount Olympus.

The last time this phenomenon happened to me was in
2001, when I was suddenly overwhelmed by the profundity
of Ian van Dahl's "Castles in the Sky" (featuring
"Marsha").

"Oh tell me why
do we build castles in the sky?

Oh tell me why
all the castles way up high."
