I Wore My Blue Shirt With a Green Tie...

One Sunday potentially not too long ago, in a land perhaps not that far away, I wore a blue shirt with a green tie. It was a second Sunday. I remembered Max's comment on my previous post about just such an ensemble.

I ended up running into an acquaintance from the blogging world (not a moho, but family friendly) who said, "I think that should be the uniform." I had been thinking that, and she confirmed it. So here, mohos everywhere, is the proposed secret combination moho outfit to be worn on Second Sundays if you should desire to express your mohoness in a (ridiculously) subtle way: a medium blue shirt and a (non-clashing) green tie.

Granted, I've seen this tie on at least one other chap here before, but I don't remember if it was on a blue shirt, or if it was a second Sunday. Obviously, this will not be a fool-proof sign, but it's a step.

Addendum 1 July 2007 - See Max's rendition of the uniform here.
Addendum 13 July 2009 - Additional renditions here and here, in response to a reviving of the "uniform" by Abelard Enigma.

I like it!

Unfortunately, since I sit on the stand during Sacrament meeting, I'm afraid it wouldn't be so subtle for me. I need something that goes with a white shirt :)

Of course, if I were to wear the 'official' MoHo uniform and somebody came up and acknowledged me as a MoHo, what would I do then? I mean, beside freak out :)

Will you go green tie shopping with me.

Why do you need to know who they are? Tired of the guessing game? The curiousity is too much? Hmm...just wondering what the motivation is for having us all know who one another is? :) I am not saying that I am opposed to the idea. Could be very interesting.

Dude! Are you kidding me!? That is THE shirt and tie combo that I have. And I wore it yesterday!

I think that would look silly on me.

lol, I'm sorry Samantha. I actually thought of that after writing this post. But hey, it would, in fact, be a giveaway. Perhaps not so much subtle...

AtP--green tie shopping it is.

Max--That's wonderful. We must be psychically connected.

Enigma--I suppose those with white shirt callings will sadly have to forego this particular sign of mohoness.

BaT Boy--OK, so the only people who would even know about it are those who are already connected to mohodom or who have stumbled across my meager blog...

In all seriousness, what I really think would be USEFUL is if closeted mohos who have no connections with other mohos could find someone active and trustworthy with whom to talk and relate. And I'm afraid wearing a blue shirt with a green tie isn't going to achieve that handily.

...but it sure does make for fun blogging and a feeling of moho spirit when we all wear our blue shirts with green ties!

Now for the ladies...what to do, what to do...

It's okay, really. We ladies know who we are...

where is a good spot to find such a tie? The tie places I thus far located are either churchy conservative or outrageously silly.

Definitely stay away from "tie places". Burlington Coat Factory and TJ Maxx all the way.

My friend has a big gay crush on you. Shame on you, green tie, boy. I almost wore my green tie to Father's Day for you. Grrrr!

What the-- Who are you, Superstar? Which of my friends incognito is being funny?

Wow, my first secret gay crush admirer. ...how exciting ...I mean dismaying. I post one torso picture, fully clothed even, and suddenly I have a fatal attraction stalker. I was afraid this would happen. ...how exciting...
